Chapter 1. Velvet Play Date [Colty] Empty Chapter 1. Velvet Play Date [Colty]

Daphne

Flashing lights of devotion, circling in slow motion, I kissed the lips of a potion, and now I'm out in the open, so follow me into the dark...
Daphne Rose Ravenwood

Well that had been a journey and a half. Considering how much she had procrastinated on monster hunting, after all of that she hadn't even gotten round to killing any slimes. After a stop in Lyndon Port where some thugs attempted to rob her, only to be robbed themselves. A visit to the Riverforte Spring Festival, where she had gotten into a heated situation with that oaf from the bar and very nearly wrecked the place. A trip only salvaged by meeting the lovely Jen and an interesting creature of Olde. She had finally gotten to the Shambles, where she had spent several days in her usual quiet discomfort. Greeted not with a hello but by the immediate order of chores, it had been several days of re-living her years in the Ravenwood household. Doing work, practising the craft, undergoing rituals, and making offerings to the void.

When Daphne had finally been able to bring up the subject of Velvet Reign, during the quiet brunch following their morning rites. She had hoped that her parents somewhat pleasant mood would have stirred them into being more lenient -  she had been wrong. It had been no different from every other spat that they had gone through before, a lot of 'shame' and 'disappointment' remarks. Only resulting in the eventual exclamation that it was not a request, but a notice for them. The days that followed were thick with tension, silent rooms and the displeased glances. It was only until her last day, as she prepared to set off on her return to Avalon did her father approach her with a surprising compromise. One she had reluctantly agreed to for the sake of peace. It was manipulation. She knew that, but what else could she do. To refuse wasn't an option.

But at least she was back, stepping off the boat with her hair in a side pony, her pink longs curled into beach-fitting waves. Wearing a dark blouse and black jacket, denim jeans and her favourite black boots. Various accessories on her person; styled in a way that pleased her aesthetic. Although as her foot hit the dock, she would reach down into her bag in search for his choker. She had worn it a few times, during her travels. Mostly during her more 'private' moments of the journey. She had kept it hidden during her trip to her parents, even going so far as to wrap it in cloth and hide it in the confines of her sand jar. She knew having a gift given to her by a Gaiyan would not have been well received and the thought of her Father trying to destroy it was not something she wanted to risk. Reaching into a silk pouch she had bought to keep it in during her trip to Riverforte, she would undo her current black and gold choker before replacing it with his. She didn't know how he would feel about her wearing it, but it felt like not doing so would be impolite.

After the choker was security clasped around her neck, she would dig out her phone. Having given it a re-charge on the boat, it had managed to get up to sixty-five per cent battery. Not great but trying to syphon electricity to charge technology way more advanced than the boat itself wasn't exactly easy. Finding his number, she would press the call button, the delightful ring of actually having signal music to her ears. Regardless of whether he would pick up, or she reached his voicemail, as soon as she heard the confirmation, she would speak. "Hey handsome, still got my crystal?"

֍ Aut Vincere Aut Mori ֎

The sea contained the key to the mystery of life. It embodied the very idea of purity and everlasting reincarnation with it's mere existence. No substance he had ever come to know seemed to matter as much as it did. It was calming and chaotic, brimming with life and yet capable of inducing the deepest feelings of isolation... and helplessness. The sea was chaotic... and now Colter understood why. When you fought against the current, you'd only be swept away in it. So how did you overcome such an unstoppable force? There was but one solution. You had to become water. Embody all of it's properties, from the peaceful to the destructive. Only then would you be given the autonomy to exist outside of the confines of it's grasp. It was a lesson that Colter internalized over the past three weeks that he had been working.

His current outfit had been a bright azure three piece dress suit, complete with a azure tie, coal colored dress shirt underneath and diamond-like cufflinks.  His shoes, which often were the only article of clothing that he bothered to wear, were dress shoes that were also coal in color. He wore his signature shades, but due to some changes to his anatomy, wearing the shades did nothing to hide bright cerulean orbs from being showcased from behind the dark tinted lenses. For the past week, he had worn this same color scheme for each of his suits, with the only difference being denoted that each suit had a different cut, form, and over-all style. A fact that a discerning eye would have caught, but any plebian from the street would have overlooked. He was dressed to the nines, figuratively speaking and this was a purposeful change.

He still didn't feel whole... or okay. But he didn't dwell on the events of the past three weeks. He had something of great importance to do. Someone important to meet. Someone that, had no choice but to think of during his time in that accursed wharf. But he wasn't going to unload these burdens to her. The pair had only met once over the course of two days. It was time to make sure that the third time was the charm. He wanted to ensure that the last person he could trust in this world, thus far, was going to stay at his side. So he waited. Purposely choosing not to take any quests this week, choosing instead to spend all of his time researching all of the lore and information he could about Velvet Reign. He even contacted the proper channels to alert them all that he was bringing in a high valued target, a prospect of immense value.

Ever since he came back from that hellhole, things had been much... much different for the man. Everyone knew of his sheer power. He didn't bother to hide it. Rumors floated around about what might have happened to him, but he kept them all in check and at bay with sheer raw displays of his magical potency. He was among a smaller pool of magic wielders now. Something that he might have celebrated if he hadn't... no. There wasn't time to dwell. Fortunately, he'd not have to think on it. Taking a moment to answer his phone, the man crossed his legs. Seemingly have been at a cabana, enjoying himself a mojito while reading a tome based around the creatures of the Hoptus Forest. Raising his device to his ear and clicking call, he'd speak in a tone of voice that was similar to when he had been dominating her.

It had become his only voice.

"Ah, hello gorgeous. Of course I have it, as if I'd betray our sacred trust by losing it. Pfft."  He chuckled softly, speaking up even more now after taking a sip of his drink. "Where are you right now? If you're calling then that means you're within range of the island towers. Is it time to come get you?" He chuckled and took a moment to gesture towards the bartender to bring him over the mirror that was on the shelf. He'd then begin to check his face and fuss up his hair. He'd toss a few pieces of vlydergold onto the table and then stood up, turning towards the direction of the pier and slowly making his way over towards that direction. "I hope you didn't get into... too much trouble in the mainland. Given your proclivity towards violence."

The familiar sound of his husky voice would cause an almost instinctive rise in the woman's body temperature. An expression of playfulness swiftly making its way across her features, "I'm at the docks, same place you dropped me off. You can come to get me if you like, or I can make my way to the faction and meet you there," There were already the hints of mischievous defiance in her voice, those brat-like tendencies itching forth, wanting to spur that side of him before he'd even laid eyes on her.

Despite the 'casual' labelled she had plastered across the nature of their last exchange, he had admittedly snuck into her thoughts on occasion these past few weeks. And whilst her body no longer sported the marks and evidence left behind by his firm touch, the memories lingered and that was all she needed. She wondered how he would feel if he knew that she had relived the experience a few times, in the confines of her dreamscape. Whilst others slept, Daphne was in her own private realm, enjoying blue-eyed fantasies of her own creation. The only downside of doing so though as the orchestrator of those dreams was that her magic never quite did have the same effect on herself as it did others. Not being able to sacrifice control entirely took a bit of the fun out of it, nor could it stimulate her quite as thoroughly as reality. But it was enough to satiate the more basic of her carnal requirements.

Phone pressed to her ear still, she wandered idly along the docks. Not really going anyway, but adopting the fidgety movements of someone currently unable to stay still. Slowing pacing along the woods planks, "I might have misbehaved a little, some thugs tried to rob me in Lyndon Port but it didn't quite work out in their favour." She said, sighing deeply, she almost felt sorry for the poor guys. In actuality, she hadn't really don't anything to the thugs, but rather she was saved by a random stranger interested in a little violence and the contents of their pockets.

"What about you? Got any new toys to show me, I never did get to see those relics of yours." She would find a nearby bench along the docks, a spot where the traders probably sat to take their lunch breaks, currently abandoned, settling herself down for a moment to stop the need for her to pace.

Damn he loved how she toyed with him. it was so effortless and he could never tell if it was intentional or not. He listened to her carefully over the phone, hearing her statement about misbehaving, he found the context to be completely justifiable. Thieves were a hard subject for him. As of late he had been murdering any that had crossed his path. Though, perhaps murdering was a strong word. He had just been extremely brutal towards those individuals. Not because he looked down 0n them, but because of his paranoia. Still, he didn't seem to pay attention to that deeper emotional pull that tugged at him as she spoke of what occurred. Instead, he found himself responding to her about her little predicament.

"Your tour definitely will be taking place, perhaps later tonight after we get your tour at headquarters squared away. We can discuss your... misbehavior far more thoroughly then as well."  He was already starting up with the shenanigans before he even saw her. But he didn't mind merely hearing her voice. It did him some good to hear from her in all actuality. He had at times thought that perhaps she was humoring him. Three weeks was a long time to retain the same feelings for any given situation. So it made him wonder if she still felt the same carnal pull that she had before. He was going to find out soon enough. Flirting was something that he just accepted as part of her nature.

It was always hard to discern fact and fiction from teases, in his opinion.

"I do have some new toys for you, as well, but I do have a question. Did you bring any luggage at all? If so, we can just take it with us to headquarters, they do have valets and bellhops." He'd smile as he'd speak to her again, but his voice was far more cheerful, despite sounding the same octave wise.  "I might have to hang up, I see this unbelievably sexy  woman standing on a pier. Goddamn, definitely going to have to slide into her Vycon dms." He'd then wait for her to see him approaching, before waving at her and giving a wink. He found it funny how she forgot how close he lived to the pier. Looks like she didn't get the benefits of post nut clarity.

But then again, she was probably off in her own world now that he thought about it. Her demeanor definitely became more... perky and adorable.

Mmm, there it was, the naughty promises that she couldn't help but wish to be fulfilled. To endure more of his rigorous punishment, it really was fortunate to have found someone so sensually adept as him. To finally be able to scratch an itch buried deep within the woman's deprived body. It was dangerous. But when was she ever the type to care about that?

She would fold her free arm across her waist, sitting back and crossing one leg over the other. Eyes drawn toward the distance, but not really paying attention to anything, focused more so on the conversation at hand. "Oh yes, we'll most certainly have to discuss it at length." Her words laced heavily with suggestive undertones. Getting to her feet once more, she would wander along, striding slowly. Perhaps it was the keen anticipation to join Velvet Reign, or the eager urge to undergo a similar treatment to her last experience here. But whatever it was, the girl just could not sit still.

"Just my satchel, but I'll be fine to carry that." She answered, weirdly enough her mother had tried to insist that she take more dresses of Shamble's design with her. She had buckled at two, but not any more than that. It wasn't that the dresses were bad, they were actually very pretty, but it just felt like an anchor. A means to force her to cling to that old lifestyle.

At his declaration of spotting her, she would spin on the heel of her boot, smile widening at the sight of her well-dressed escort. Laughing as she hung up the phone and pocketing it, she would stride toward him. Eyes raking over the sight of him, taking in the extravagance of his attire, shaking her head as the thought that all of it wasn't even real but appreciated the effort nonetheless. "As dapper as I remember."

Colter couldn't take his eyes off Daphne, she just seemed to have a glow about her that was overwhelming. He didn't know how to put his finger on it, but this girl knew how to dress herself... how to just present herself in a manner that made her look absolutely desirable. He'd approach her and immediately close the distance between the pair. There was something that he wanted to make sure that he did, not because he wanted some affection. But due to how overjoyed he was that he was still alive to keep his promise to one of his friends.

He'd reach out, wrapping his right arm underneath the small of her back and pulling her close to his body. Naturally, there wasn't any fabric to stop her body from being pressed against his own. This had been their first hug, and he had wrapped his second arm around her as well before releasing her moments later.  "Don't complain about that, lets go.."  He'd turn and slips his hands into his "pockets",  he wasn't going to fucking walk towards the headquarters. No, surrounding the pair would be a familiar construct.

In moments they would have been off, soaring over the skies of Avalon, with Colter stupidly whistling to himself all the while.

Eventually...

After some idle chitchat, the bubble would find itself descending downwards towards the Velvet Reign headquarters. Even at this time of day the building was alive and full of active individuals moving about doing their daily tasks. Upon landing, Colter would look back towards Daphne with a smile as he moved towards the entrance. Where two men stationed there opened the doors for the pair.  "You can get a sense of the front yard later, I want to start your tour off properly. With a little bit of history. I know you love that shit. Established in the year..."

Even later...

"And that should wrap up any questions you have... and now you see that my thorough comment wasn't only reserved for... private." He smiled towards her as he turned and opened two large double doors and pushed them forward. Entering a rather large office area that seemed to be filled to the brim with someone's trophies, knickknacks and memorabilia. He'd pull out a chair for Daphne and once she was seated he'd return to the doors and close them. Making his way to the other side of the desk in which she was now seated and sitting down himself.

"So, be honest. Interested in joining?" He reached down and opened up one of the dresser drawers, taking out a stack of papers and looking at her as he set them down. A smile grew on his face all the while. While he could have her sign all of these documents immediately. He wanted to have a conversation with her first. Get a sense of where her head was at. "Like I told you before, those rooms on the upper floors can be provided to members as their own personal residence for a monthly fee. But you get all of the amenities that are available on the grounds at your leisure, as well as priority. Which even includes the vehicle services."

He had yet to really mention the price of the rooms, however.

Daphne slowed as she approached him, preparing to stop a few metres away. However, she was quickly thrown off by his decision to keep moving toward her, before she knew it she was pulled against him. The familiar feel of his front pressed against hers, but somehow different. This wasn't a lustful act but approached much more tenderly. "Err... Hi?" She commented awkwardly, not really expecting the hug and as such not prepared to react to it. At least, not one from him. It wasn't that she never hugged people, it was just that this wasn't the dynamic they had, or at least not the one they had the last time they were together. And just like that, he pulled away, turning away and summoning his porta-bubble spell. Daphne would stare after him with a confused frown, before quickly shaking it off and following after him.

As they arrived at the Velvet Reign headquarters a short time later, Daphne's eyes would explore the building with vivid curiosity. She had never been to this part of town, considering she had never intended to join before. So taking it all in was a must as far as she was concerned. It was an incredibly beautiful building, with all the grandeur and extravagance fitting of a place made for making money. Being here in person really brought it into perspective, she was joining a faction, her! Daphne Rose Ravenwood. A faction not tied to her old lifestyles but that adding the possibility of a new one. And to top it off, her tour guide wasn't a bad view either.

When the tour came to an end, Daphne felt pretty satisfied with Colty's efforts. Making sure she had gotten a thorough walkthrough of all of it, and providing much more information about the guild than she had expected him to. Truth be told, all of that information spilling out of him, was really sexy. Just listening to the smooth nodes of his voice as he relayed fact after the fact was more than enough to delight the girl in tow. She would follow him into what appeared to be some kind of office, smiling as he pulled a chair out for her, she would sit herself down. "I wouldn't be here if I wasn't." She answered assuredly, she had made her mind up last week that she wanted to join and being away had only fueled that choice.  After which the decision truly cemented in place by her parent's attempts to refuse her.

"A monthly fee huh," She repeated back at him, hesitation reflected in her tone as she contemplated the math. She was already paying for an apartment in Rivengate, and whilst it wasn't anything fancy, it wasn't exactly cheap either. "Just how much are we talking?" She asked, pulling out her phone, she dragged up her calculator. Pressing numbers on her screen, as she quickly attempting to work out just how much budget she could spare toward another place.

"Location is king, we have the best location. Amenities, services, and catering. So once you crunch the numbers a bit, you get something that looks a bit like this." He'd take her calculator and start smacking the fuck out of those keys with his index finger las though it had been a naughty device. By the time that he had finished crunching the numbers, going through several pages of the weighty stack of papers that were in his hand, he slid the device back towards her.  He'd interlace his fingers and look over towards her.

He didn't want to cause her to die, but she really had to understand the kind of faction that she was dealing with. Rivengate might have been a technologically superior location in comparison to the Avalon Islands, but there was a reason that the guild known for it's hubris, greed and mongering set up shop here. And having that kind of concentrated wealth was a luxury in and of itself. To the point in which it was almost like an exclusive club within a club. Colter pursed his lips, deciding that this was a good chance to help her cope with the amount.

"Now, if I can remind you. We did come to a sort of understanding back in the restaurant, and I was not joking around when I told you my ambitions." He leaned back in this chair that was clearly too large for him despite the fact that he was 6'01" inches tall. He'd cross his legs and do his best to adopt a professional tone of voice, which he did flawlessly. "I can always give you a taste of that special treatment... early. It'd just come with it's own conditions. I assure you, living here... getting a good night sleep routinely, and having access to our private library are well the minor caveats I am proposing."

As he handed her back the phone, Daphne would peer over the calculator screen with a blank face. Before Colty's eyes she would visibly pale, mumbling the phrase; "I'm sorry wah...", under her breath. She was a vision of disbelief, momentarily lost for words at just how much the luxury of living in her own guild would cost her. She would laugh nervously, scooping the phone up and quickly pocketing it - not wanting to look at those digits a second longer.

She sunk back in her seat, somewhat dejected by this information. She had looked forward to getting to stay in such a lush place, her place in Rivengate was nice enough but it wasn't anywhere as good as what she pictured the dorms of Velvet Reign to be like. It had been the hope that with a little luxury, she would find it easier to deal with the prospect of regular work, but her budget didn't even scratch the surface of living here part-time. And she wasn't going to give up her place in Rivengate either.

Still sulking she would look up at Colty, who would remind her about his goal to one day lead Velvet Reign. She blinked at him, taking in his offer, allowing the possibility to sink in. If she understood him right, he was offering to cover her room. "It's really generous of you but... It's way to much Vyldergold." She told him, sitting forward once more, "It's fine, I'll save up and hopefully if I do well I'll be able to afford something down the line. I travelled a lot before I moved to Rivengate so I'm used to slumming it. Like I'm pretty sure I've napped on that beach more times than I can count." She told him reassuringly, not acutely aware of just how unusual her explanation might be to some people.

Colter peered across the room over towards Daphne and his smile seemingly vanished, replaced only with a look of complete and utter confusion. Before he'd nod his head and stand up, stretching out and slinging both of his hands behind his back. His eyes were glowing like a thick steam piling up from a cauldron of magic. He had been able to keep the run-off in check up until now, but this was the reality of his existence now. And he would approach Daphne, making his way behind her chair before reaching down and placing each of his hands on either of her shoulder. Hands slowly and surely kneading themselves against her joints, though the sensation wouldn't isolate itself to that region.

"Perhaps I've failed to be clear and that was my mistake because I know that it's sometimes hard to accept having to rely on others. But that wasn't a offer. I wasn't saying there was a choice. I was letting you know. That if you join. I'm taking care of your room. It is something-" He'd squat down, so that he could put his mouth near her ear. "-preordained already. If you really didn't want me to take such a course of action, you didn't have to wear this." He lightly placed the fingers from his left hand around her choker. Moving the digits from the relic to her neck gently. Before the hand returned to her shoulder

"That artifact symbolizes our trust. So trust me. It symbolizes the start of a new story. Slumming it is an old narrative. Start a new one here in the estates and perhaps most importantly of all. I did promise you before you left that I'd endeavor to make your stay here in the Avalon Islands, worthy of you. Would you force me to break that promise?" He'd definitely didn't bother playing fair when it came to this negotiation. He had no faith in his words being solely enough to convince her. Which was why the entire time be had teased at her soul.

Though something was very different from before. There definitely was far more of a clear indication that he was the one touching her soul. For as he did so, any thoughts of him she harbored would flow into her mind. Coupled with his words. He took no chances with Daphne. She had proven the last time here that she was definitely an indecisive, needy and tender little brat. He had to coax her properly.

The sudden shift in his demeanour would cause daphne to stiffen, watching with a hawk-like gaze as he stood up, moving around the table and behind her. His hands finding their way to her shoulders, the sensation of his sudden massaging taking her by surprise.

She really hadn't taken any issue with the circumstance, sleeping on the beach under the stars. She had never been one to complain about this before so having to do it now, well it didn't really feel like an issue to her. Sleep had always been an elusive matter for her anyway, since the original exchange for her powers, it was one of the vices for such an ability. The notion of a 'good nights sleep' had lost its value to the pinkette, as such her body had become accustomed to going without it.

But it seemed that Colter, did take issue with it. Considering the things he was saying to her at this very moment, although paying attention to what he was saying was difficult right now. Because the familiar teasings of his magical ability would cause her to squirm in her seat, bringing her hands to her thighs, her fingers digging into the denim as she attempted to maintain her composure. He wasn't paying fair but he knew that.

"No... but... mmm," She attempted to argue, her body trembling, breathing heavy. "I... don't want to be a burden," She would roll her head forward, eyes closing for a moment. Her fingers would clench into fists, trying to bear the sensations, but struggling profusely. She was trying to think about what this would mean for them, him paying for her room, the reference to the collar that he'd made. Just what sort of arrangement was she going to end up in? The moral ambiguity of the unspoken terms making her question herself. The figurative devil and angel on her shoulders bickering profusely as she underwent his soul play. Not that angel and devil was the right term, more like 'the commitment-phobic bitch' versus 'a bad girl's not so quiet inner ho'. Girl, just take the offer. A nice room and good dick is hardly something to feel guilty over. If she wasn't so caught up in the feel of his magic write now, she could have sworn that thought had come directly from the heated warmth situated between her thighs.

"Okay," She breathed, opening her eyes once more, her voice slightly raspier. "If... I agreed, what would be... the conditions?"

Colter was almost forced to smile when she mentioned that she didn't wish to become a burden. It was perhaps the most adorable thing she had ever said to him. Which was strange given the fact that  he found her to be a confusing mix of cute and sexy the likes of which probably strained his brain in a manner that was suffocating. But he didn't succumb to these feelings. No matter how intrigued he happened to be with exploring that cuter side of her further.  It seemed as though she was finally willing to agree to his terms.

This was beneficial to him, since he didn't want her to... be scared away from the potential depth that could be provided by their future union. He didn't know much about what he wanted in this world, but he had made it his goal to see how far he could take things with Daphne. She was a fascination that he wasn't quite sure how he felt about. But he was more than open to the idea of exploring it. Even if she wasn't. That was why he had to be careful about the method in which he approached it. He figured if he started with something small, that would work the best.

"Alright, so... we can discuss the second condition only if you're willing to discuss the first. You and I have a great sexual chemistry, but I am not so selfish as to claim such a title lies squarely with me. So I offer you something unique. You will find an alternative name... a title to address me as in private. It will act as a means in order to maintain our meetings." He didn't even know how to phrase this properly, but he was going to put his best foot forward. "Essentially, you will no longer call me Colter or Colty in private.  Does that sound agreeable to you?"

Trying to focus was becoming increasingly difficult with each passing moment. He was talking, but she could barely register what he was saying. Her mind ever so boggled by the sweet embers of desire burning inside of her, growing fervently heated by the torturous delights delivered by his abilities. Still, she wasn't prepared to lose yet, she could take it. She just needed to gather her thoughts, and focus on the conversation at hand.

A pet name? Was that it?

That didn't sound too bad, in fact, it was surprisingly reasonable. From what her muddled brain could figure out was that, Colty was suggesting a situation of 'benefits', one that catered to the nature of their intimacy. Domination from him, and submission from her. A give and take that, which proven by experience, they both would find to be extremely gratifying. Fortunately, in spite of the mild disorientation, she didn't need much convincing on this aspect. The manner in which he had presented it to her, quelling any doubts before they could be born. This was purely sexual, perhaps the only reasonable relationship she could permit herself beyond 'friends'. There was no denying that she wanted him, hell a part of her wanted him to shut his pretty mouth and just slam her against the table already. But this was a game of negotiation, so she would endure. She would inhale slowly, holding the breath for a count of four, before exhaling. Trying to focus her thoughts away from what he was doing to her.

"Yes." She agreed, following which she would pause, before presenting a question that she deemed necessary. Better to ask, than assume. "Do you have a preference... for a title?" It was going to be hard to stop herself from calling him Colty, given the way she liked how the name rolled off her tongue. But it was a small sacrifice really, one she would happily sacrifice for the possibility he was offering.

Colter was about the lay down the law. He seemed to reply to her without any hesitation, as though he had already come to the conclusion that this was the course of action they'd be taking. "Master."  He had removed his hands and found his way back over to where he had been seated earlier. Taking out some of the important documents, preparing them to be signed. He'd look up at her from his seat, peering over towards her in an attempt to read her expression. He had not been jesting when it came to this situation. It was fairly important.

Colty had experience in this field, but no one he had been with before scratched a particular itch that he had been looking for. It was the lack of authenticity that bothered him about most people. He didn't bother to speak with them outside of the bedroom and the few that had been let in there had usually disappointed him long before he had even began. But she had potential. He could see it written all over here. Something that she could provide him beyond just the sweat and gratification. He wanted to make sure that he could harness whatever it was she was hiding away.

"If I give you permission, you'll be allowed to call me Colty again. Like coming up for air when you've been diving."  He mentioned this so that she started to view saying his name as a reward. It was always good, within this realm of understanding, to make sure that you have both rewards and punishments that were also rewards. So that you could reinforce certain behaviors and deter others. It was a delicate balancing act, one that Colter had walked for a time. Still he wanted more than what he was telling her. Even if he wasn't yet aware. "Let us not mince words. You are to submit to me, in private. It is simple."

She said she trusted him before, so it was time to see if her talk was cheap.

Master.

There it was. The word slammed into her like a truck, rocking her to the point where her body would buckle slightly. The quietest of growls would emit from deep in her throat, a sign of the internal frustration of fighting off his advances and the sordid pleasure that she was taking from his handwork.

As he moved around the table, he would undoubtedly notice the condition she was in; the pinkened flush across her features, the manner in which her thighs pressed together firmly, the whites of her knuckles clenched against her legs as she tried to suppress her excitement under such difficult circumstances. Still there was a steady determination in her sultry gaze, not willing to crack just yet, meeting his cerulean eyes with that fiery resistance he was so accustomed to. She had lost so easily the last time he had done this but that was different, this was but a mere tease compared to what he was capable of - she knew that very well. She tried not to think on it, quickly realising that indulging in the memory of the way his magic had bombarded her soul that first night would do nothing for her composure right now.

The fact that he was going to allowing her to call him Colty on occasion pleased her, although she knew that meant under his terms.  She would have to learn to read him better, to memorise his signals and cues. She was already somewhat familiar with his mannerism, particular those that pertained to his 'control' over her. But she wasn't so naive to know that her experience was no way enough to master this knowledge, that could only be achieved through continuous exposure. Only then would she know when to behave and just when she could misbehave. She could already tell that being good was going to be difficult, especially when she so relished the consequences. She peered up at him through narrowed lids, her chest rising and falling as she used her breath to steady herself. Eight, four, eight and repeat. It helped, but only fractionally.

"Anything else?" She would ask, her voice laced with the heaviness of her wanting.

When it came to analyzing a situation, Colter had been someone that often did so with a great deal of success. There were many things that he was unskilled at, but this was not one of them. He could see her fighting back against his magical abilities and perhaps when she had met him that would have been something that was possible. But that wasn't the case here and now.  He'd raise his hand up towards her, forming his hand in the same manner that one would need to in order to snap. With a smile on his face. "Say my name."

"Forty Chaotic Minutes Later..."

He had used his foulest of dark magics upon her. For it would have felt as though she was taken by fifty instances of a complete and utter Lovecraftian nightmare tour.  But if said tour was directed by some sleazy back-alley movie studio of dubious infamy. It had all occurred on his snap, he had decided to let her to understand that the nine that he had used on her last time was nothing to him now. A paltry number that seemed like a distant memory. Not fifty simultaneous big O's at once, no, after each hit, the next got in line. Repeating until each of the fifty had their turn to play out. Giving her a prolonged version, and showing the utility of this... application.

It wasn't long after that utterly spirit shattering soul torturing session that the door would open to the room. Colter had left the room at some point, only returning now with a tray that was filled with snacks as well as a pitcher and a glass. He'd put the glass in front of her, after setting down the tray nearby, and took to pouring her a glass of the tea that he had brought her. She was likely going to need a bit of hydration... since unlike the last time that he had done this to her. It was a completely physical affect that happened to her body. No longer bound to just the spiritual plane. A showcase of his deeper magical understanding.

"Welcome back, my little [redacted]. I have those papers for you to sign once you're ready."  He gave her a smug smirk.

Was she dead?

She wasn't entirely sure. The sheer monstrosity of what she had just experienced, so out of this world that wasn't even sure if she was on this planet anymore. Soul shattering perhaps wasn't the right term, but she had no idea how to explain the sheer level of awakening her body, mind and soul had just gone to. However if like other realms, Vyldermire had seven wonders, then she was pretty sure she had just discovered one of them. Daphne was started to get a sense of just how truly merciless Colty was, some women might have been scared off by this encounter, the verbal contract which had led to pleasure so savage it borderline on brutality. But Daphne was not like most women. Right now, she was hunched forward, still in somewhat of a daze. Her body felt like it was humming, her limbs weak, her clothes damp with sweat and well, reader, you know.

When Colter re-entered the room, she wouldn't look up at him immediately, still trying to compose herself. She smiled meekly at his words, after several moments she would roll her neck back to look up at him. "Okay," She breathed, inching forward on the chair somewhat, a twinge in her expression as she was reminded of her current state of being. "I, er... need a shower." She told him, purposefully not meeting his gaze, for perhaps the first time since their meeting, rose would tinge her cheeks. Not from stimulation but from a genuine sense of embarrassment over the aftermath that had followed once his title had left her lips.

"Ah, my savory [Redacted]. Come, I will get you to your room without prying eyes. Let us ghost walk."  He gave her a look of concern as he gazed upon her. Knowing that she was struggling in a away that he couldn't exactly help her with. But he wanted her to really understand the dynamic in which he was offering her. He could take her to the brink and back. He'd move over towards her, after scooping up all of the documents that were on the desk and arranging them properly, putting them back in the drawer after stamping the stack..

He'd kneel down, touching her face once more, before reaching his hands underneath her thighs and cradling her bridal style in his arms. With a deep breath he became ethereal and he managed to make his way out of the room and up to her newly assigned room without a single soul being able to see him... or Daphne for that matter. The invisibility was due to the pair walking through the realm of the dead, so physical things could still interact with the pair, but perception of that realm was exclusive to those who had mastered the highest levels of dream, chaos, energy or spirit magic.

Or at least that was what Colter knew from what he had read. It didn't matter much, however, by the time he got her too her room, he made sure to unlock the door and head inside. He'd place her down on her complimentary couch, stroking his fingers through her hair with a smile before he stood up and went off to the bathroom. Drawing the water for her. As he'd return, if she was able to move or not, he'd begin to undress her slowly. He figured she'd not be able to stand on her own. So he took her clothing and began to fold each individual article into a neat, damn pile. Before sitting down, running his arms against her legs.

This was to directly heal her legs enough so that she could stand up and make her way to the shower. He showcased no sexual energy at all as he pampered her. Making sure she was aware that he was genuinely looking after her well-being. "My poor sweet, [Redacted]. Come, let's get you to the shower." He'd reach out to help her to her feet, even if she wasn't cognitively all there yet. He'd take her by the hand towards the shower, carrying her if he had too. Placing her inside of the water, which he remembered was the right temperature she liked from the last time she was here, he'd wait for her to get in the shower.

"I'll be outside." And without hesitation, he was.

Daphne made no effort to resist as he picked her up, not that she had the strength to anyway. Resigned to this fate, she would embrace it, resting her head against his shoulder. As they began to walk, she felt a strangeness wash over her. Glancing around, she would eye the area around them, what was this feeling? Familiarity? It was like the very air around them was causing had her 'witchy' senses tingling. She wanted to ask him about it, but she didn't have the energy.

It wasn't long that they would arrive at her new room where Colty would set about taking care of her. Daphne remained quiet, observing him as he went about with his tender care. Helping her undress, healing her body, and putting her inside the shower before leaving her in peace. She would sigh in content, relishing the warmth of the water as it caressed her body. Trying to make sense of the situation she was in, just how had she got here? It all seemed bizarre, a little fast too. Scary fast. But Colty was too interesting to resist. He had remarkable charm and made her crave experiences she never thought possible. She brought her hands to her face, pushing her wet hair back over her head. Was this really okay? Letting him into her life in this manner, and with so much control as well. It felt like she was toying with the boundaries of sex and friendship, a taboo construct without the sturdiest foundation. Something that without warning could crumble into dust.

It made her anxious.

After a thorough showering, she would make her way back into the room, feeling refreshed and significantly more coherent than how he had left her. With a towel wrapped around her lithe frame, she would begin her search for her satchel. As she entered the living area, she would see her newfound 'Master' as it were, idly seated on her couch, a book in his hand. She would approach, realising that the book he was perusing was hers, The Affiliated Universe, a recent purchase made in Riverforte during her three weeks away. "Controversial huh?" She remarked as leant over to see what page he was on, "I really like her take on alter-souls." The idea that somewhere in another realm is a replica of your soul, living a completely different life influenced by the environmental factors of that universe. It made her wonder what an alternate universes version of herself would be like. Would she be also have been a witch? It was such a curious thing to consider. Daphne would step away once more, finding her satchel and crouching down over it. As she began rummaging through it, she would pause, a question jumping to the forefront of her mind. She opened her mouth, glancing toward him but stopping herself as she remembered something.

"Um... Master." She would test the word on her tongue, it had a strange weight to it. Like she was uttering the magic word that would open up a hidden door into a dungeon or magical domain. "What should I wear? I mean, like are we going out again tonight?" She asked, not really sure if he was done with her for today or not. It didn't seem to be the case, since he was still here.

"I'll be outside."

He heard that voice that was just to-die for and he found himself looking up to drink in every inch of Daphne's body, even though the most exciting portions that weren't her face was covered by that towel. A shame, it would have been nice to see her... bare it all. He didn't immediately respond to her, as she looked over and checked the page. I wondered what she likely realized when it was shown he was half-way through the book. He felt like she probably, as most would, assumed he had merely skimmed. But no... he just read all that time. Far more than he blinked even, and so he was adept in that area. Either way, he found himself looking upon her as she called him master.

Now that is a good girl. He thought to himself as she asked if they were going out again. In particular, she had asked him what she should wear. Was this it? Had faith turned around? Did he have to sacrifice an important part of his being in order to be granted the gift of Daphne changing in front of him?! Blessed be the gods in that case! This was beyond fascinating. To the point in which he found himself completely and utterly overwhelmed by the good vibes that were starting to flow through his body. But he remained calm, he had to. Couldn't have a crack in his armor.  "We will get back to that in a moment. Your statement about the book. You said it was controversial? How?."

He'd reach out to take her by the arm, pulling her gently towards him, leading her body so that she'd be seated upon his lap. Placing his hand around her waist and pulling her back as he leaned forward. He seemed to be lost in abject thought. Which was likely why he didn't notice that he was holding her in such a personal way. In a manner that was more akin to a love than a master. But that didn't seem to matter because he was completely lost in his own thoughts now. Though this period of time wasn't actually any longer than a few seconds. Showcased when he  didn't give her a chance to respond before he began to speak about the subject at length.

"I suppose she writes like a crack-pot, but her theories are accurate. Alter-soul Theory is provable through me, since I can see the distinct differences between souls.  You see, each race can be broken up into... distinct groupings. You already know this. Eldritch, Gaiyan, Anthro, Human, what I call Hybrids and Otherworlder. So each of the races that are established harbor unique characteristics to their souls, based around what their individual races are. But that has nothing to do with Alter-souls, so I won't elaborate on that yet."  His tone was very matter of fact, implying that he had done this research firsthand.

It was likely clear by now that he spoke to her with a voice that showcased that he was completely enthralled with what he was saying. There was a clear joy in his words that seemed to only be present when he'd bring up the relics. "Eldritch have red-colored souls and you can often tell if someone's soul is being corrupted, for lack of a better term, by how much the red is influencing their original color. In terms of the other races that is. Gaiyans are similar and follow the same logic, but their souls are light blue in color, similar to how you have seen my soul magic. Humans have souls that are purple in color though I have no idea why that happens to be the case."

There really was a lot of things he hadn't cared to look further into, he wasn't a researcher of these things. But he had come across overlap with his studies into the various Relics oft this world. "Anthros are green and Hybrids only follow the color scheme of whichever parent's genetics are the most dominant. I.e. Red, Blue, Purple or Green. An otherworlder is special in this regard. They adopt the same color as whatever their counterpart here happens to be. But they also have a very distinct white flame-like aura that is within the color. That white aura is what denotes them as being an otherworlder."  He'd shift in his seat. Giving her a moment to pose questions, before he looked up from the book.

"It's very interesting, honestly." He was so lost in thought he hadn't realized that he had been rubbing the small of her back for the majority of the explanation.

Her lips would part at his question, her countenance thoughtful as she formulated an answer for him in her head. However, before she could speak, he had reached for her arm and was proceeding to pull her toward him. Releasing her grasp on the handbag, she would allow him to steer her onto his lap, holding her around the waist. Whilst surprised, she was hardly displeased by this action. In fact, granted that he was still wearing his ethereal attire as opposed to real ones, she would feel his skin against the areas of hers that were still exposed. A welcome sensation as far of the pinkette was concerned, who in their right might would complain about being pressed against such refined muscles. She had about been about to say something flirty but stopped as he returned them back to the subject at hand.

Quickly enthralled, Daphne would listen to his words. Laughing at his crack-pot comment, before settling down to immerse herself in his explanation. The manner in which he explained that he could prove Alter-soul Theory to be real caused her eyes to widen in awe. Hanging on to his breakdown of the individual races, from what she understood about Colty's magic, it had a deep connection to souls. Having felt the stimulating feelers of his ability on her own soul, there was no doubt that he held great expertise on the matter.

Her brow furrowed as he introduced colourisation to the explanation on souls, explaining the various shades associated with each race. So Eldritch were red? She mused, encapsulated by the fascinating factoid he had provided her with. She tilted her head, considering this information, an act that would cause questions to creep forth. "Okay but..." She would shift on his lap, turning so that her front was facing him, and positioning her legs on either side of him. Straddling his lap, she would rest her arms on his, "How do you know that your perspective of soul colours isn't a manifestation of your own expectations. For example, say you look at a black and white image of me, you would assume that my hair in that photo would be pink right? Because of your expectations of the way I looked, but what if I had dyed my hair a different shade, one not so different that it would be detectable in the black and white image but different nonetheless. How can you be so sure that what you're seeing is the appropriate colour and not inputted because your brain isn't 'filling in the blanks' so to speak." It wasn't that she was challenging him, it was just a curious thought that she had, one she hadn't be able to contain herself from presenting to him.

"Anything that has been proven can be disproven at any time. Nothing is certain. That is the basis of science as a whole. We are here to test and test until one of those tests fails. Within those impossibilities we further our understanding. One can never be completely certain of what they are seeing. But what matters more than the specifics of the color, is the fact that there are distinct visual differences for all things. Perception of reality isn't the same for each of us.." He spoke in absolute certainty, but still offered his reasoning as to why he was correct on the matter.

"Your example of the photo is a great one, however, it has the stimuli of bias. Knowledge must compound on knowledge. If your photo had shapes forming a image that I had never seen and you were to ask someone else who knows what those shapes are forming to say what the image is. Are they wrong just because I can not perceive what they do? It is hard to say. Perhaps they are seeing an image formed by their bias, and a third party knows the actual identity of the object. An ontological observation is one that can be problematic. Everything is based on repetition , quantity and quality." He would grasp her hips, holding her tight and pulling her close.

"What we observe has to be peer reviewed. But I have no peers capable of double checking my work. So what do we do? Well we run observable tests on the matter. Simply put, I don't have to see the person to tell what they are. If you were to put each individual into a completely dark room and tell me to walk in, I could still pinpoint not only their location. but I could tell you who was what. Based merely on my experience alone. There will be others who gain this ability in the future, and they will repeat the study. Then we will constantly tweak the variables. Change the stimuli. Like I told you before, I am very thorough."  He moved his hips to rock against her as he said the word, as a reminder of how true that happened to be.

"There are many hues and colors that exist, and each person adopts one of those. I always see the primary color first and then it slides into it slips into a different color afterward. There are too many colors for me to discern and categorize. So I have no idea what they all mean. But I know at the very least, it has something to do with various aspects of the individuals life. I've seen twins with different colored souls. This is that part I told you I wasn't going to elaborate on yet. Sadly, given how I have never even thought of publishing my findings, we will need to wait until someone fits the criteria to be able and help out the theory." He'd try to make sure he could match her eyes. He was glad she wished to discuss these things with him.

"So in the end, what becomes the truth is based on what we can prove in that moment. If my tests conclude that I am accurate in my assessments, then those become what we consider fact until the moment that a better test with a differing result is found. All things are capable of being expounded on. Otherworlders specifically challenge the very notion of objective fact. For they come from worlds with different laws, different boundaries and it isn't one specific world that they hail from. I can only speak on what I can sense. And as with all individuals who pursue knowledge, I do my best to eliminate bias where I can."  His tone was starting to soften as he spoke. His hand would move to her ass, and he'd hold her while pressing his digits against the skin softly.

"But all observed traits have to be recorded. Which in this case, is color. But like I told you earlier. Its not a universal observation. There are many factors that affect what a person's soul appears as to me. Even if I do not know who they are. Your soul, for example, is a shade of red that I know not the name of. It's indescribable to me, because you're guarded mind, body and spirit. So it makes the image hazy, but I can see that you're an Eldritch. I also can see every soul in this building from right here. It's fucking annoying. But when you're around I can tune it all out." He looked upon her for a moment and wondered what she was going to say to his observations. In education, information was updated constantly. But his research could be used as the basis for further exploration.

And that was what truly mattered.

Daphne wasn't sure how Colter would take her challenge, but the result proved to be much more thrilling than she expected. This side of Colter, overflowing with his well-informed opinion, delighted her extensively. His first argument, that nothing was certain and that there were key differences in what he was seeing when looking at souls, regardless of their colour. She nodded at his words, accepting this as a reasonable counterpoint. Using her example as a reference he went onto discuss the issues on perception versus experience-based knowledge, not really countering what she was saying but providing more of a verbal examination of it. She appreciated the depth to which he was considering her argument, it thrilled her, even if he didn't necessarily agree. Never had she ever enjoyed the benefits of a hearty debate on magical theories with someone she was sleeping with. Essentially those were always separated due to her tastes. Intellectually, not one of her experiences had ever challenged her.

Following these points made, her attention would briefly be pulled from his words as she noticed the feel of his hands pulling her closer. Considering that she was now facing him, this meant that she was very much in contact with all of him. This new stimulus would cause her to grow even more excited, but for different reasons. The latest taste of her arousal accentuated further as he continued to talk about the soul theories. She would snake her arms up his arms as he spoke, stealing a feel of his firm biceps as he was distracted. Still he words did fascinate her, so he knew nobody that used similar magic for him to compare such a theory. She at the very least knew of other dream witches that had existed, such as her grandmother  - the primary reason she had been able to achieve it following her initiation ritual. He went on to tell her about what he knew from experience, in her head, she would try to picture what he was saying, her thoughts somewhat hard to put together due to the 'touching'. Made even more difficult as he would begin to rock against her.

Ahh, what was he saying now? Something about his assessment being fact until proven otherwise. And then there was stuff about Otherworlders and how they abided by different laws. Yes, that was it, man his hands felt nice on her ass.  "Mhmm, mhmm," Emitting noises of agreement, he definitely had to know what this was doing to her, heck, there was no way he couldn't feel it. Especially now that there weren't any panties in the way.

As he finished his last point, Daphne was practically humming with want. Her own body baffled her, considering how much he had sated her earlier. Surely she would be fulfilled? But no, all it took was some smart talk and a little friction to get her going apparently.

"My soul is red huh?"  She repeated, even though he had already mentioned Eldritch had red souls. Her mind was foggy, for obvious reason.  "Is the colour ever affected by the state of one's emotions? Like for example if I were especially stimulated" She rolled her body against him, a devilish smirk across her lips. Following this she leaned in, kissing him in a manner most teasing.  "It might be prudent to test this... you know, for science."

Nothing was more important than the pursuit of science.

Daphne looked up from her position on the floor. Currently situated in between his knees, hovering over him as he held her by her hair.  Listening as he berating her for the act she had just attempted. Ah, it was worth a shot. The sheer intensity of his gaze boring into her after her excuses would cause her body to tremble. At first, she would relish in the telling off, but as he let go of her, pulling back. Continuing the onslaught of his harsh words, Daphne’s gaze would harden. Eyes narrowing slightly, the internal struggle beginning to roar within her. On one hand, she felt incredible frustration, she had wanted more than anything to please him, but this had not been the result. Perhaps she was overthinking his words, but given that she was inexperienced in the act of submission, the manner she was digesting them would begin a spiral of emotions within the woman.

She had failed. Daphne hated failure.

The issue with Daphne, one that perhaps the sweet Colter hadn’t realised that. Whilst she relished his degradation, this had been a decision she had made willingly. And the one thing that the woman could not handle were her own feelings, sitting before him, watching with a cool gaze as his clothes rematerialized. For several moments, she would kneel before him, her eyes drawn away from him. Her gaze, a mixture of anger with what might be perceived as a little sadness. She was disappointed in herself, but to Daphne that wasn’t something that quite registered the way it would normally. And so, by default, her anger became directed at him.

“Sorry, I assumed you would like it, Master.”

She would stand up suddenly, moving away from him and she would look for her satchel. Where the fuck was that thing, finding it, she would reach inside, rummaging through it. Her movements were aggressive, making no efforts to hide her displeasure. Despite his suggestion to find clothes for her, she would pull out a silk dressing gown, quickly wrapping around herself. She straightened up once more, striding out of the room, refusing to look in his direction as she would move toward the bedroom. Slamming the door behind her so hard that it would rattle against the hinges, before making her way to the bed and sitting herself down. She exhaled harshly, her emotions worsened by shame at how she had reacted. Why was she like this? Why couldn’t she just fucking do as she was told? He probably was done with her now, and that meant this would be the end of that.

To think she had finally found someone she could be friends with who could sate the depraved needs of her body. And so quickly she had screwed it up, she would scoot back on the bed. Bringing her knees to her chin and wrapping her arms around them, listening out for when he would inevitably leave. Because frankly after that, why the fuck would he stay?

֍ Aut Vincere Aut Mori ֎

Anger..? She was reacting with anger? He watched her and he could see that she did her best to hide her emotions… but… he was merely trying to reaffirm that a sub wouldn’t make a decision on their own like that. If she was angry that she couldn’t just help him smile then… well perhaps that had nothing to do with it. Colter had always been the observant type and he was beginning to extrapolate data as she moved towards her satchel, making a dramatic show of the entire affair. Even when upset, her ass was amazing. A fact that he noted in his mind.

Still… her emotional outburst was… adorable. Too adorable. Colter’s face began to twist… he couldn’t contain the finely constructed veil of emotional control that he had found himself known for. She’d slam the door and his eyes would water. Such anger… such wrath. He could do nothing beyond submit to his own feelings. Laughing to himself at how she reacted. He couldn’t believe it. How the fuck was this possible? She legitimately liked him. Someone… was capable of actually liking him. What a way to find out… What a way to have to confront that buried insecurity.

He rose to his feet, holding just underneath his ribs as he chuckled. It was a laughter, but one of immense pain. He had the eyes to see so many things. Yet he couldn’t see that. Perhaps… he was jumping to conclusions. He didn’t think that she liked him romantically. But she was at the very least, liking him enough to want to do a kind gesture for him. The kindest gesture he had this month was being mutilated by his supposed friends. Still… this brought a smile to his face. He made his way towards her bedroom door. Reaching out to grasp the handle of the door.

He’d enter her room with a smile on his face. Holding his ribs as he stood in the doorway. “Daphne. I am sorry. Please come here. Actually, no I’ll come to you.” He’d walk over towards her bed, sitting down at the side and looking back towards her. “Thank you. I got carried away. I apologize. I know you were trying to make me happy. I appreciate that. Please don’t be upset, come here.” He reached out towards her, and if she didn’t immediately react negatively towards this, then he’d take her hand, tugging on it to get her over. “I have a question for you.”

Though if she had rejected his touch, he’d have shook his head in understanding as to why that would be the case.
