FLEUR SILVERPINE

General

Alias/Nicknames: Floo-Floo
Race: Gaiyan
Sub-species: Fae
Gender / Sexuality: Female/Hetero
Age: 70
Alignment: Adventurers Guild
Faction: N/A

Persona

Personality:

Fleur lives in the present and associates her actions with how she feels about something and holds nothing back. She is ordinarily straightforward and incisive with her criticisms of others; she will tell people what she thinks of them and may struggle to empathize with their views if she can’t make sense of why.

She doesn’t gratify everyone smoothly,  but others can count on her to make her thoughts public, communicating who she is and what she expects from those around her. She is both very easy and very hard to work with, quite intimidating in appearance and in tone. She is known to be a very demanding movie actress.

But Fleur is also pretty self-aware and makes a habit to scrutinize what effect she has on certain individuals, what are the consequences of her actions, and her overall demeanor.  After all, if she doesn’t make self-analyzation a practice, then she would have to kiss her profession goodbye.

This proves she isn’t as detached as she seems, in fact, when she isn’t with a large crowd of people she will practically transform from an elegant, graceful, incredibly rehearsed diva to a deadpan, playful, sarcastic and semi-chaotic homebody. It’s a night and day difference that she strives to keep separate.

Her sophisticated persona, her posh accent — entirely feigned and reserved for the eyes of the public fall off and reveal an informality that is peppered with slang and misplaced sensuality; a queenly posture that melts into a surprising crumpled lump on the floor. She becomes a normal, everyday person with moments of genuine happiness, sadness, extreme anger.

History:

Her parents had a somewhat perfect relationship. When the two were a few centuries younger, they were predictable childhood sweethearts, destined to love each other forever and ever.  From their timeless romance, sprouted three wonderful children, and the eldest of the three, Fleur, was the quietest of them all.   She was an obedient little fairy, very responsible, and quite devoted to her religious beliefs. She was, along with her siblings, the pride and joy of their small family. But then she started having interests outside of what her family wanted for her.  Her safe, beautiful routine would seem boring, almost fruitless the instant she laid eyes on a most masterful, outdoor performance -- a sort of makeshift play-- that colored her world more than any flower she ever held in her hands. She was young, but not too young to understand, to know that she wanted in on this sort of life. When she approached her siblings, her mother and father with this magical experience; they were accepting and made light of it.

Fleur took it a step further as she made friends with these traveling artists, and decided she wanted to tag along too. Naturally, put off by the small fairy’s request, the talented team of actors turned her down. She wouldn’t take no for an answer, certainly. Whenever they passed through her patch of the world, she would nab every possible second of their time to ask for their acceptance. She wanted to act, too! They dodged her, she followed -- a rinse and repeat every year until one day she earned from them a very tired ‘yes’.

Quick to leave her family behind, they weren’t positively thrilled with the idea of their daughter traveling so far from home to follow a rather silly dream that would most likely blow up in her fairy face. Many adventures were to be had with such an eccentric group, and with them, she met people, that would befriend her and ruin her. Such experiences were needed in order to grow and she did. She was small-time in the mainland, gradually gaining momentum and getting *some* recognition for her dazzling performances. She had a natural flair for outdoor theatre! But then she got a thought so daring and suggested they bring their dramatic presentations to Rivengate.  That seemed to mark the end of her life as an artist as they shunned both the idea and her.
Grieving, sensitive, and alone; Fleur set out to do what she believed was beneficial to her goal. Stepping into Rivengate was like stepping into purgatory, everything was unfamiliar, sounds she’d never heard in her life buzzing through her ears, but there was an opportunity in this haystack of madness.

Decades later, thanks to the dedication, the stubbornness, and that spine of steel -- she made it as a type-casted movie actress (always the villainess role), though she was less optimistic and a little more jaded than when she got to the land of technology pink-nosed and puffy-eyed.

Likes:
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Her dead butterfly collection.
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Imitating sounds from nature. It's one of her quirkiest hobbies and she does it disturbingly well.
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Ad-libbing in acting.
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Likes technology, particularly when it comes to cinematic production. She still doesn't understand everything that goes on, but she appreciates it, unlike the folks back home.
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Never breaking character for a role she's been assigned until her work is done.
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Getting a rise out of people if they deserve it.
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ She loves her beautiful wings. They are nearly as red as her eyes and resemble that of a butterfly’s wing.

Dislikes:
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Technology is something she appreciates. It also plagues her with tremendous guilt as it is a great source of disdain for her family and even goes against some of her beliefs.
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Recalling the letter she received some years ago of how she shamed her family by moving to Rivengate. Of all places to follow her dream. She hasn't seen her family since.
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Crying. She does this frequently as she is secretly a very depressed woman. She can never stop once she starts.
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ If she is around children that have seen at least one movie with her in it, it secretly hurts Fleur when they show fear and start crying in her presence. She does like children.
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ She gets self-conscious when she meets a very traditional Gaiyan, automatically assuming they have the same mindset as her parents if they were ever made aware of how she disgraced her family.

Goal/Aspiration:
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ To land a protagonist role. She is tired of being cast as the villainess or the insanely jealous lover.
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ To make peace with her sadness.

Key Fear/Adversary: What do they fear, alternately what works against them?
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Never patching things up with her family.
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Anytime she interacts with an extremely judgmental Gaiyan that knows of her dealings in Rivengate.
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Never being able to act again.

GARANCE SILVERPINE

General

Alias/Nicknames: Garance Silverpine
Race: Gaiyan
Sub-species: Fae
[b]Gender / Sexuality:
Male/ Bisexual
Age: 2,120
Alignment: Rogue
Faction: N/A

Persona

Personality:

Garance takes extreme delight in manipulating people and in fooling the authorities. He takes the utmost care in covering up his nefarious deeds (murdering humans, eldritches, and otherworlders) and in utlizing magical means to avoid detection, for the simple reason that he has the bigger picture in his mind always. He has a family and an upstanding reputation to maintain, clings desperately to his heroism during the Holy War. When he is not painting masterpieces that come to life (think of the paintings in Harry Potter)  for the exchange of valuable goods, he plans things out in advance before engaging in a slew of racial hate crimes.

He is so painfully confident of himself and his overwhelming beauty, Garance can underestimate his social circles and thus believe himself capable of talking himself out of anything unpleasant; he is a caricature of his disgusting ego and holier-than-thou attitude. A mockery of sanity when he lovingly dotes on his family, reminisces with old friends, whispers sweet nothings to his many lovers, spreads lies about his ‘ungrateful’ son’s roots and ‘recent’ eldritch conversion through crocodile tears. A seemingly loving but controlling patriarch of the Silverpines, so full of secrets and lies; he sits on a throne of lies and rotting corpses, hiding behind a glittering prestige and pretty Gaiyan shell.

History:

Garance Silverpine conjured an unparalleled mask of sanity through the centuries. To those that knew him in his youth often said he was a bright, articulate fellow with a promising future.

He did right by the many that said so and magnetized aspiring artists to his work, such people flocked to him for his talent.

He was known for painting the interior spaces of Gaiyan churches with all the flair of an otherworldly Michelangelo.

As a young man he also won himself many hearts, but lost his own to a very gentle soul.

She was fragile, themed a soft periwinkle, with the sun in her eyes. He had fallen madly in love with perfection.

And they had a child with many of her same physical attributes. Bless him, for their little one was a boy. Their first and only son!

Garance took extreme measures to compile a list of names, and yet one stood out to him the most. Sweet child, he was given the name Asmodeus. Asmodeus Silverpine.

It could have been described as an affectionate relationship between the pair. He was the warm and loving model husband, she was his woman and his muse for everything. They would embrace domestic life.

But soon the illusion of the sensitive painter, the passionate lover and the doting father began to unravel, as he uncovered a very dark secret.

The mother of his child was not the Gaiyan she claimed to be. It took him a while to assimilate the startling truth. But when Garance couldn’t process it with an open mind, he found he could only accept his version of it. She clearly had bewitched him into loving her, and he believed in his own twisted lie so strongly that he considered himself a victim of that eldritch scum in a dress he so once adored.

During times of war, it was a little easier to make a quick sob story of her sudden disappearance, to shove the blame on the eldritch for taking the innocent life of a good Gaiyan woman. Oh, but he knew better and was delighted to have felt no remorse for killing her with his own two hands. And, yet, because their child was an extension of himself — despite the soiled bloodline — Garance could not bring himself to kill the baby.

So, he cared for Asmodeus. He felt it was his obligation to shelter him and to provide for him— but in many ways he expressed loathing for what the demon spawn was and mourned for what he could have been.

He moved on to another romance and had a baby girl with a woman who believed similarly. The world should not be shared with the humans, the eldritches, and the otherworlders. This was a concept he very strongly believed in, it was enough to make him want to stick his nose in such violent affairs and make fairly sure to defend as many gaiyan settlements as possible.

When such tumultuous times had come to an end, the Silverpine family grew bountiful with life and they all lived under one roof. The golden-haired Silverpine thought he had everything under control, that is— until his son left and outed himself as an eldritch, until his granddaughter Fleur decided she wanted to follow her dream of becoming Rivengate’s greatest trash, until his chaotic grandsons, Callum and Robin, both naive and young, wanted to have adventures of their own.

He’s quite obsessed with getting all of his ducks in a row and refuses to leave things as they are.

Likes: (Please list 3)

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄ƷHe has an endless craving for cherries.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄ƷHe enjoys exercising and wowing people with his astonishing beauty and extreme masculinity. He thinks of himself as the bombshell blonde sort, and it’s quite embarrassing.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ He enjoyed killing a little too much back then, and many of his wild expressions of ecstasy could not be ignored during the good old war times, which often stirred suspicion from even some of his closest friends. His racial slurs and terrible jokes never quite helped his case.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄ƷHe loves looking his best. The brighter the clothes, the gaudier the fashion— the better. He is obsessed with jewelry and finds they adorn him too well. If he can’t be the brightest star in the sky, then he’d rather just die in a blaze of glory than thrive on ugly mediocrity for the rest of his days.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄ƷHe has questionable hobbies that are privately scheduled in moments when he possesses a ghastly urge and decides to bring a mask with him. Such ‘hobbies’ bring him endless joy and leave him in a sunny mood after he’s done.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄ƷHe loves his family, and, deep, deep down, he does love Asmodeus in his own twisted way. But his prejudices will always overrule this saving grace, and cause whatever small good gesture of his to disintegrate.

Dislikes: (Please list 3)

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Anything that is not Gaiyan/Anthros.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Ugly people. He tends to judge others based on looks alone and may make silly assumptions about a person because of this.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ The Silverpine bloodline ending with just Callum, Robin and Fleur.

Goal/Aspiration: What drives them?
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ  Ensure the growth and prosperity of his family.
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ  To drag Callum and Robin back home -- before they end up like Asmodeus and Fleur. Disgraced in his eyes.
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ  Beauty.
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ  Killing.

Key Fear/Adversary: What do they fear, alternately what works against them?
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Asmodeus, his mistake of a son, having Eldritch spawn of his own.
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄ƷBecoming Eldritch himself.
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ The bloodline ending with just his grandchildren.
