Hmh…

Spewing deadly gas from your mouth didn’t quite cut it the way he liked it, not when he first used that spell in that pinch they found themselves in on their way to Newdale. However, he witnessed the effects it had on all those bastards trying to prevent them from bringing materials to the town… his Poison Magic could injure people very deeply. Fire Magic sure burned people’s skin and caused severe immolations when pushed to a corner, but… there was just something so much more bizarre and crueler with Poison Magic. Maybe it was because that Fire Magic had more utilities, while Poison Magic – at least, to Daiko here – sounded like Magic specialized to killing living things.

But it was his Magic, for now at least… and he had accepted that a bit more. And thus, along with his growing acceptance, a bit of Vyldermir’s air made space for his presence in the cosmos, granting him a little push closer to mastery of his new arcana.

One day, he found himself standing right at the edge of Newdale’s northern shore, staring north towards what looked like a large island in the far distance… but he wasn’t able to see it clearly. Y’know, ever since setting foot in Newdale, the lighting around him – the skies, the fields and the colors as well – just grew so much dimmer and darker that it felt like it was nighttime at all times! He could’ve asked some stranger he passed by, but… nobody else batted an eye to it, so it must’ve been normal here. And he didn’t want to expose his irregularity…

Kura’s worry and Auntie’s warning still lingered in his mind. He didn’t want to draw the wrong kind of attention.

Urrghhh, being on guard all the time was so annoying!!! Daiko felt so out of place that it almost ticked him off his balance and down the salty waves…

“… Hnnh… Obsidian Isles, eh,” he mumbled while taking out a map that he conveniently bought with the coin he was granted from his work with the Sister, “Almost sounds like a mage guild, eh, Coda… w-wait, are those-“

He squinted his eyes and zoomed in on a couple boats paddling down to the coast from afar. They were about a couple hundred meters away, maybe more, but Daiko could make up their long, identical cloaks and assume that they probably came back from some kind of business. Whatever that business may have been, they took off from a small, wooden port with boats and paddles available… and Daiko got an idea.

His Poison Magic was dangerous to wield around people, and he didn’t want to hurt anyone near him… hell, he’d have to master it soon – what if Coda suddenly got hurt or something?

But he needed a secluded place to practice, in case if his Magic went out of control or if he suddenly overdid some new, fancy spell. The island far up ahead looked like it could provide with wide, uninhabited shores for him to train at… and he could do some sightseeing at the same time. Two in one.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Henceforth, if you wandered near the wooden bridge that led out to the wood boats, you would spot a dark-skinned man and a vermillion raptor taking a nap on one of the boats, enjoying the swaying and rocking that the waves granted them… it was difficult to tell morning from evening with the lighting like this, but Daiko did feel a little fatigued. He had prepared a bag with snacks, needles, a knife he bought as well as some bandage in case if he ended up hurting himself during his training.

Maybe The Real Treasure Is The Friends We Made Along The Way [Emi, Bleu, Theo] Empty Re: Maybe The Real Treasure Is The Friends We Made Along The Way [Emi, Bleu, Theo]

Post by Bleuenn Bosser Sun Oct 10, 2021 12:54 am

Listening to the clacking of hammers the grinding zip of saws and the tightening of fibers. Bleuenn watched the construction of the wooden skeleton of the church that Trishna, Herself, and many others that help provide the building its wooden bones.

“Hey, hey, HEY”! Sighing, Bleuenn would turn her gaze to the small creature cage made out her magic that held a particularly annoying creature. “As much as I like staring at your succulent legs I’d rather you either let me go or delivery us as fast as possible to the order; cause your a terrible concierge”! Blankly staring at the red imp that had caused her so much trouble. Tuning the winged rat out. The half witch slowly covered over the breathing holes of the cage muffling the imp. Taking in the sounds of the construction yet again all Bleu saw before she turned her head was the imp pounding on the cage. Despite what she thought of the pest in both actions and appear he had a point. Glimpsing at what she helped accomplish for one last time Bleuenn turn to the far larger cage that held the far larger though far easier target. Focusing on the oni her rudy eyes looked at his singular horn and stoic features. “You have not said a single word since I’ve met you hopefully your fellow takes on some of your habits”. Stepping past the ice cage legs would sprout out from the base and follow after the ice witch.

While she had helped provide the wood that went towards the construction of the church, she had never seen Newdale due to overexerting herself. It’s said to be ‘a town filled with both races living in harmony, striving to be a shining beacon of what should be to the rest of Vyldermire’. However, it would only appear that way to the willfully ignorant or the blind. The fake looks and the tension that could be felt throughout the town showed the truth, and the truth is that the town was at its breaking point needed only another church incident to push it over the edge.

Seeing the harbor just on the edge of her vision the half witch’s path would be blocked by a group of lower class eldritch no doubt curious as to why a superior had their fellow kin in cages. Their leader steps to the forefront crossing his many arms and towering over the small ice witch. “I have never seen you before, care to explain why you have our brothers in cages”? Leaning to the side and peering at the mob it seemed as if the town had been split in half with the harbor claimed by the eldritch part of the citizenry. Leaning back, Bleuenn clipped the handle of the cage around the large cell before looking through her bag. “You little bitch don’t ignore me! Just because you are…”. Quickly choking on his words as the black scrolls roll down revealing the descriptions of the two eldritch behind Bleuenn with the seal of the Order Of The Eternal.

“We’re sorry milady we did not know, please…”!

I don’t need your explanation nor excuses now remove yourselves before I do it for you”. Packing away her scrolls she stepped forward giving them no time to speech just move as Bleuenn and her captures pass. Once the half witch fully passed and moved out of earshot she exhaled softly as her mother’s culture was far harsher and more intense than her father’s side.

With no more interference, at least currently none that Bleuenn was aware of she finally made it to the harbor. Just like the ones before her, the docks seemed to be completely eldritch since the only things that would come into Newdale by sea would be from eldritch lands since the town has a direct road right to the capital. Walking along the docks her ruby eyes scanned through the bopping boats till her eyes stopped on an odd and concerning sight. Resting on one of the boats were Daiko and Coda, two of the seven who helped protect the shipment and save her from an early grave. Looking around to see if anyone was paying attention Bleuenn would casually walk to the boat and place the cage in front of her and Daiko to cover them from onlookers.

Leaning down and slightly shaking her former ally, Bleuenn would whisper to Daiko as this was one of the last places a human should be. “Daiko…. Daiko, wake up”. Continuing to lightly shake the tanned skin man lightly she would look around once again before looking back at the sleeping falconer concerningly.

Maybe The Real Treasure Is The Friends We Made Along The Way [Emi, Bleu, Theo] Empty Re: Maybe The Real Treasure Is The Friends We Made Along The Way [Emi, Bleu, Theo]

Post by Theo Sun Oct 10, 2021 11:36 am

It was Theo's turn to sail, something he greatly enjoyed within an existence generally devoid of such things.

Even if this new world and new life both solved some old problems and caused new ones, one thing he currently grinned about was his regained ability to sail on the open seas! As a dragon slayer back in his homeworld, he lost the ability to sail without his stomach violently evacuating his body, which was a real downer for someone who was once a pirate. Then again, Theo had been a lot of things in his screwy lifetime, so moving from one profession to another had been no big deal. There was more than one way to find the shinies. He made do with his skyship, the Crystal Jr. Oh, he missed the Crystal Jr....

Anyway, the voyage had been uneventful. It was initially hard to adjust to the permanent twilight of...what was this called again? The Outside Rim? Whatever, Theo still didn't know too much about the world, and even what he was told usually slipped his mind quickly. It was a lot to learn at once, okay?! They were in the scary people's territory, and the darkness was offputting, but nothing he couldn't handle with a map and a compass, which was what he was consulting right now. "Arrrgh, Emiiii! Land ahoy, matey! " he called in a goofy pirate accent. Though he really had no idea if she'd understand such a reference, the gag was one of his many ploys to seem and feel normal, despite the persistent tug of depression. Twisting back to the wheel and peering into the distance to make sure, yep, that was an island alright. All dark and gloomy and rocky with a scary-looking castle stabbing its multiple dark spires into the gunmetal sky. Didn't look dangerous at all, ha ha... But it did look like it was hiding many things that would not be nicked without some risk. "Blimey," Theo muttered to himself with a cringe, swallowing hard and trying to convince himself this was a good idea.

It was his idea, but that didn't mean it was good. He was neither a smart man nor a consistently lucky one, so it wasn't unusual for things to go super sideways. In fact, his life, mental health, and physical health were in shambles due to his prevalent, curse-like bad luck. There was no way in good conscience he should be traveling with Emi, and reminding himself of that did run a pang of guilt through him, but apparently not enough to travel alone. He tried to keep the delightfully jokey girl at an arm's length, tried to work together without ever really being friends, but he also craved contact and relationships with people. He loved to laugh and make others laugh, and both were easy between them. It was his horrible selfishness that had him on her boat, potentially putting her in danger by merely hanging out with him, let alone waltzing her into the catacombs under some sort of dark king's castle. Or queen's castle. Theo believed in equal opportunities, after all.

Pulling the boat up to a particularly low but flat slab of black rock, the anchor was dropped and he pulled a satchel onto his back that had a few necessities. "I really hope that grandpa that mugged me was right," the ebony head said, luminous aquamarine eyes gleaming like glaciers in the sun at the mere memory. As an accomplished treasure hunter, Theo Silversong could never pass up a hint or rumor when it came to shiny things and riches, so the toothless old man's ramblings about the heaps of coin and gems he wished he could get his wrinkled mitts on had been a nice consolation prize for having Theo's scrawny coin pouch yoinked and shoved into the crotch of the thief's pants right in front of his eyes. As the old man's bow legs jingled him away, Theo had pressed for more details. The caves under Obsidian Isles, he'd been told. Supposedly the religious dudes and dudettes frequented the Blood catacombs at certain times of the month, and by Theo's research, it should be empty right now, at least until tomorrow.

Wasting no time, the pair would leave the boat as Theo rambled off some more random pirate lines. "Hope ye arr readeye to find bountiful booty!" he grinned. Should they have tried for more stealth? Probably as a precaution, but his quick scan of the back cliffside being hammered by surprisingly cold ocean spray for the summer had come up empty. No guards or anything. No monsters either. Weird for somewhere that could be chocked full of the good stuff, but hey! He wouldn't complain. He'd charge confidently into the lowest yawning mouth of a cave.

"Yaarrr, it be creeepy..." he added once inside, ready to bring out a magilight but finding it unneeded. Only a short distance ahead in the black-rock tunnel there were torches glowing with mystical crimson flames from gothic-esque wall sconces and your average groupings of wax candles in varying states of melt. To double down on the horror and edge, skulls had been shoved into little alcoves burrowed here and there on the walls. Nice touch. Nice and ominous, as if the occasional skittering of insects, crumbling obsidian, and dripping water weren't already enough. Still, not a voice was heard echoing from the maze of tunnels and rooms. Theo thought he heard a hollow shuffle in the distance every now and then, but it must have been his imagination. No movement caught his eyes.

Peeking into one of the first smaller rooms they passed, the easily spooked treasure hunter caught sight of something. An altar with a shine of skulls arching over it, the smooth slab reflecting the candles burning above it. On it was large, black scales. The scent of stale blood hit his nose all at once, causing the tracksuited man to dramatically convulse his way through a shiver. He hurried on.

Coming to the first fork in the sprawling labyrinth, they were presented with three options. He'd let the lady choose, but he wouldn't ask normally. The silliness comforted him when he was freaked out.

"Yo ho ho, which path shivers ye timbers, lassie-bucko?"

Maybe The Real Treasure Is The Friends We Made Along The Way [Emi, Bleu, Theo] Empty Re: Maybe The Real Treasure Is The Friends We Made Along The Way [Emi, Bleu, Theo]

Mhmm… what was going on?

The boat wasn’t sailing already, was it? He had made sure to check that it was tied stuck to the wooden bridge before taking a nap… then why did he feel like shaking from side to side ever so slowly? Coda had been resting next to him, and he knew that… he didn’t see it with his closed eyes, but he knew that the falcon was in deep slumber by his side. His unconscious thoughts processed this sensation through several times… did… did someone undo the ropes?! Was he lost in the sea at this point?!

“Mm… m-mah… hwaa…”

Sadly, the weird sense of alarm in his mind wasn’t enough to wake him up. He was toast… but it did wake up his birdy friend Coda. Blinking a few times, the bird of prey rose her beak up in the air and adjusted her pupils to the brim, grey light of the outside before spotting one of their new friends from the journey to Newdale. That pale skin and hair, those red eyes, and the outstanding garments weren’t unrecognizable; it was the delightful Eldritch Bleu! Coda’s birdy bird eyes widened at the sight as she began to chirp in a joyous tone, rising up on her talons before moving over to their guest. Her beak would naturally find its way to her shins, gently nuzzling her head feathers across them.

“Mmmmnnngg… C-Coda, stop running, it’s… j-just a nail cl-cl-… k-k-k-k-k…”

Coda switched. Suddenly, she looked a little annoyed and turned back to the falconer before going ham on his face with her beak. That ought to wake him up real good as he slowly rose his head up to push Coda’s assault back. “O-Ouch, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey! I’m awake, I’m here, I-I’m- ow ow ow ow, C-Coda, stop that, I’m s-sorry, I’m sorry, I don’t know what I did, I’m so s-sor- o-oh, h-hi Bleu.”

Weird thing was that the bruises on his face from Coda’s beak kept glistening with some yellow, oil-like substance before fading away as if it was never touched before.

joker's always wild

but I just can't smile without you

The cold, sea salt breeze that wafted in the air and billowed through the sail was always something that Emi enjoyed the most whenever she was close to the water. It was like the wind was playing with her hair, which made it feel so relaxing. Having a shipmate to help her take the wheel from time to time was relieving, and just having someone to make conversation for a change while out at sea only added fun to her relaxation. For some reason, Theo struck her as someone who was a lot like her. He didn't have to reveal much about himself for her to feel that way; she just felt like he was someone that belonged to her circus family, if only Emi trusted people to be that close at least. It wasn't him though, not even her circus family knew her secrets - and she was fine with that. They both seemed to understand and respect each other mutually in that regard.

"Arrrgh, Emiiii! Land ahoy, matey!"

"Heehehee!" Although she didn't really get the humorous reference, never being around pirates that talked like that before in Vyldermire, it didn't stop Emi from giggling at the funny way Theo spoke. Otherworlders were always fun like that; you could never know when they'd drop a random reference from their world, just like Wesley and his otherworlder Italian. Otherworlder pirates sure had an interesting way of speaking. She'd have to remember to ask Wesley one day if he knew about otherworlder pirates in his world after returning back to Engloria to report for duty.
While she attended to the rigging of the sail to adjust to the change of wind direction and wind speed, the thief in orange and green finally took a second for the dark emerald jewels in her large orbs to take in the bleak atmosphere of the Obsidian Isles. Not counting the Eldritch darkness that blanketed the land in eternal night, the comedic mage didn't need any sharp senses to feel the palpable shroud of ominous energy that emanated from those perilous spires, which was akin to the feeling of a thick fog they just cut through. Of all the places to be, this human mage felt that she was exactly where she needed to be! The adrenaline rush of such a dangerous place was already starting to heighten, especially at the prospect of obtaining treasure.

Emi wasn't one to dwell on negative energy of the area either, her smile brightening up even more as she focused her thoughts on idle talk to distract Theo's thoughts from concentrating too much on how precarious this treasure hunt seemed. "Say, matey.." She used his words humorously with an inquisitive smile, "Think there's a way we can get a ship like this in the sky like that skyship you told me about?" Emi had mused to Theo idly as she worked at the rigging of the sails by the change of wind direction. She couldn't help it, flying just seemed like something so freeing. She could jump off the tallest buildings and sail across the seas, but her restless heart would feel like it'd never be enough compared to the sensation of something like flying. Then again, she supposed, it'd be a pretty funny way to get shot from the sky, and it'd be as simple as shooting a carrier pigeon to intercept mail. too. Hah. Morbid humor was always funny.

"I really hope that grandpa that mugged me was right,"

"Ahaha!" Emi couldn't help but laugh as she helped secure the boat to a slab of obsidian rock, thinking of that jingly old man that ran away with his money. "Some people would say anything for a good price," The comedic thief added honestly with a shrug. She knew plenty, and she happened to be one of them just by surviving this world. "But, just in case.. catch!" With a smirk tilting one side of her lips, Emi pulled out the coin purse and let it roll over her shoulder before bumping it with her elbow for Theo to catch. While Theo had pressed for more details about the Obsidian Isles, Emi made use of herself and had left his side in that moment to steal his coin purse back. Did she feel bad for stealing from an old man? Heck no. Why did she choose now to give it back to him? Only because he mentioned it again. It made for a funnier reaction. "Don't worry, I know you won't make it easy next time!" The bad influence thief encouraged her shipmate with a wink, knowing that Theo would take all his experiences as lessons to just get better and better.   Then again, it was hard to steal from a thief with a pocket dimension like Emi.  Still, Emi had full faith that Theo had the makings of a great pirate or a great thief with all these experiences.

"Bountiful booty, huh?" Emi cocked a brow over at him with a curious smirk as they walked into the cave, not really understanding that terminology. That sure sounded like an interesting word for treasure. "I'm ready for anything!" The tough streetrat responded with a fist pump. Bring it on! Of course, Emi wasn't also too concerned, given that they thought ahead of time and chose the perfect time where there they wouldn't face any guards or monsters until tomorrow.

"Yaarrr, it be creepy..."

"Yarr, this place just needs a color wand!" Emi smirked at Theo by elbowing him lightly, helping him to see the creepiness of this cave in another light in efforts to help him feel better about the place. The color wand was in reference to how they first became shipmates, after all. Even Theo had to admit, colorful skulls and colorful rocks would definitely make this place look fun. She wasn't sure how those religious eldritch people really did anything in a bleak place like this. Poking her head curiously by his side when Theo peeked into that sacrifice room caused a wry smile snake crookedly across her lips as she narrowed her eyebrows over her emerald eyes. "Someone left them at the altar, alright.." Emi murmured her morbidly dark-humored joke about the sacrificial altar under her breath. The former circus clown that happened to be an adrenaline junkie ever since she left couldn't help but feel even more pumped at this death-defying prospect.

"Yo ho ho, which path shivers ye timbers, lassie-bucko?"

The thief in the orange bandana paused in step at the three tunnels they stood in front of, whipping her head quickly behind her upon perceiving something shuffle behind them, before she turned her attention back to Theo at his question. "Want some gum?" Emi pulled a piece of gum from her actual pocket to stick in her mouth after offering Theo, then chewed happily as she mulled quickly over the options as her eyes trailed between the three openings. "Hmm.." Within seconds, she pointed to the left tunnel. "I'm thinkin' we take this one.. What do you think?" She asked Theo in midst of chewing, wondering if he had a particular thought process on how he made his choices on forks on the road. "I'm gonna set a signal." The thief decided lowly, spitting out the gum that she had been chewing from her mouth onto the tip of her gloved fingers and sticking the jingly bell to it. She planned on placing it on the ground right behind them, hoping that if anything stepped on it, the jingly bell would signal it's high pitched ringing. At the very least, the tiny vibration of a stranger's footsteps would cause the tiny jingly bell to alert them of someone truly behind them.

Maybe The Real Treasure Is The Friends We Made Along The Way [Emi, Bleu, Theo] Empty Re: Maybe The Real Treasure Is The Friends We Made Along The Way [Emi, Bleu, Theo]

Post by Bleuenn Bosser Tue Feb 22, 2022 12:56 pm

Rocking the slumbering Daiko more intensely, her attempts would be halted by the young falconer companion causing her to jump back as the creature rose from its slumber. Watching Coda for any sudden moves, the stand off would end quickly as she still remembered the small kindness Bleuenn bestowed onto her, however, the same could not be said for poor Daiko.

Holding her hands out in an attempt to halt the bird’s advance. “Coda, wait you’re…”! Before Bleuenn was even able to finish her words the damage had already been done, and while she did not mind the affection from Daiko’s feathered friend the ice witch preferred it not to come at the expense of another's health. “It’s good to see you as well, but was it really necessary to cut up poor Daiko? Couldn't you have waited for him to wake”?

Almost as if her words spurned on Coda’s onslaught she dove back towards the young man pecking away and leaving notable injury to him. “Coda”! Wrapping her hands around the large bird, Bleuenn softly pried the poorly behaved bird away from her master. “That is no way to treat your partner he does not abuse you so why do you think it is alright for you to do so to him”! Giving Coda a proper dressing down, Bleuenn wiped away the odd yellow liquid from Coda’s beak before looking over to a now fully alert Daiko.

Hi”? About to follow up with another scolding towards Daiko for not properly disciplining his pet. However, the odd yellow liquid that seemingly appeared to be healing his wounds caught the young witch’s magic eyes. The ice witch’s eye glowed with an arcane hue as she examined the strange liquid further. It’s still within the realm of poison magic yet it holds a toxic element to only bacteria while also reducing the inflammation while assisting the body’s healing process at an astounding rate.

Placing Coda down, Bleuenn was surprised at Daiko’s ability to cast one of the most complex types of magic while surprised and half asleep. One mistake and he very well could have seriously harmed himself or Coda. Thinking back to their time together, she recalled his childish nature and past magical feats. Is he a genius or savant? Unsure what to make of the boy that stood before her, but what she did know is that the person before her was far more talented and dangerous than she had previously thought and whether or not he is playing the fool or not remains to be seen.

Daiko, what are you doing sleeping in public in Newdale, possibly one of the worst places currently to do so with everything that had happened with the church”. Returning to the topic of Daiko’s wellbeing, the ice witch tried to not show that she had her guard up. While she did not believe Daiko would harm her, his ability did put her on edge.

Maybe The Real Treasure Is The Friends We Made Along The Way [Emi, Bleu, Theo] Empty Re: Maybe The Real Treasure Is The Friends We Made Along The Way [Emi, Bleu, Theo]

Post by Theo Fri Mar 04, 2022 2:51 pm

Missing that the gum was for anything other than stress-relieving chewing, Theo stood chonking his gum as if it wasn't echoing down every corridor in the most annoying way. As Emi did whatever she was doing, he honestly wasn't paying attention, the treasure hunter peered down the chosen left tunnel. It looked like all the rest. "You know, I do really wish we had that wand. It'd be so much easier to explore if it was covered in rainbows..." he thought aloud, imagining it. Skulls and blood flames and the general obsidian sharpness would look like a funtime land if bubblegum colored. Actually, it'd be pretty psychedelic... the smell of the gum in his mouth was really sending this daydream home.

Starting down the tunnel that unknowingly curved back toward the entrance with subtlety, his rainbow overlay made it much less scary and Theo even hummed a little tune under his breath. He didn't know if they had the typical wedding march here in this world, but since her joke about being left at the skull altar, it'd been stuck in his head. There once had been another reason he'd hummed the tune long ago, but that had concerned a real altar and his intentions to marry a girl he'd loved so much it hurt. Even all these years later, it still hurt to think of her and all they could have been. He was glad his back was to his fellow smuggler, since that tidal wave of sadness couldn't be hidden with a silly smile or pirate lingo.

Seeking more distraction, the jello mage entered the first room on the left. It was more of the same decor as everywhere else, though the staff on the pedestal in the middle caught his eye. The handle was gleaming silver and long, topped with a black base holding a scarlet stone. So...so shiny! Unable to resist, he grabbed it and a nearby book with a ruby embedded in the cover, then frolicked across the hall into the room opposite the hall.

"Heeere comes the treasuuuure, all dressed in treasuuuure~" he sang under his breath, changing the words of the wedding tune to the very thing he had on the brain.

More spooky candles and sconces and skulls, but this room held a variety of creatures. The obsidian walls had been hollowed out into cages of a sort, complete with cage doors. As he peered around, he wondered if these poor creatures were intended for the rituals he'd heard would be happening tomorrow. And though he really should've left it alone, since this religion wasn't really his thing and he knew nothing about it, one of the cages had this tentacle kitty that just looked so sad. "Emi, maybe we should free these guys... it feels bad to leave them here to die..." he said, hoping she was nearby to hear.

Instead of her reply, he heard more shuffling and an animalistic sniffing noise. As he turned, he saw a couple shadows seemingly turn into shadow dogs with glowing eyes. "Nice puppies..." he said with a nervous giggle before shrieking "EMIIII!"

Coda had tilted her avian head in confusion. Did Bleu not know that this was but a smooch for the highly durable skin on Daiko? If anything, the bird was so confused that she didn’t even fight back against Bleu and just gazed at her in a soft bewilderment. Daiko had never complained that much in the past, so Coda was genuinely shocked to be scolded by Bleu like this…

It caused the bird to coo in sadness. It was a way to apologize, while the hawk or eagle or whatever race Coda was continued snuggling her face into Bleu’s arms. Meanwhile, Daiko stretched his arms after a good nap and felt a bit off being glanced at that strongly. It was as if Bleuenn was examining the insides of his skull or something.

“… O-Oh, wait, I’m far away enough from the place… should be alright to take a nap he- o-oh… w-wait, yeah, the church…” he mumbled before rubbing his eyes to clarify for himself that, with the events following up to present time, perhaps he should’ve been on guard, “… It was just a nap thooooough, I had my guards up. I think… y-yeah, I think I did.” Obviously, if it took Coda’s beak to wake him up, then quite the poor guards he possessed. Then again, Daiko was so used to Coda’s presence… if anything, only strangers would trigger a direct awakening. That also meant that he completely trusted Bleuenn.

“I-I’m not gonna sleep for that long, I got things to do too. You see that island over there?” he explained while pointing out to the distant Obsidian Isles, “I heard that many Eldritch people tend to visit the island for some cultural reasons… wait, you’re Eldritch too. What does the island look like up close? It looks so spiky and wild from here, but is there wildlife over there too?” His eyes began to sparkle and widen, wanting to ask more and more and get to explore the answers to his questions. “I wanted to go take a look, but all I have is the rowing boat here. Then again, I’ve done worse without problems…”

Yup. He insinuated that he was planning to row all the way to the Obsidian Isles. And the phrase ‘I’ve done worse’ was source for worry too – what the hell was he on about? And because that he hadn’t realized that his choice of words and phrasings might’ve spilled out suspicion of his identity and origin, his filter began dissolving again.

Maybe The Real Treasure Is The Friends We Made Along The Way [Emi, Bleu, Theo] Empty Re: Maybe The Real Treasure Is The Friends We Made Along The Way [Emi, Bleu, Theo]

Narrowing her eyes at the blissful ignorance radiating off of Daiko; Bleuenn began to doubt her theory surrounding the poison users’ true nature. Even if the man before seemed to act oblivious to his magic, there was no way that magic so precise could have been activated on a whim. However, the sheer believability of Daiko’s naivety would put the man on parallel with a master spymaster effortlessly stringing the ice witch along leaving her completely frozen at the lack of anything concrete to build a proper response or action to the enigma before her.

Trying her utmost to chip away at the man’s impregnable act looking for any sort of weakness or outlier in the falconer’s perfect persona. Yet unlike the seemingly tranquil Daiko, Bleuenn could not say the same. Racking her brain for any sort of reasoning, Daiko completely caught the half witch off guard with her simple question.

An island”? Following both her finger and words, Bleuenn looked over to the smoke covered peaks of the Obsidian Island. Focusing on the barely visible island Bleuenn doubted Daiko's laissez faire attitude towards the sheer distance between them and the island to mean that he believes that the landmass is mere hours or even minutes away. Placing down Coda she raised her hand to rub her eyes but held back as she refocused on Daiko as she did not want to make it any less obvious that the man was getting to her more than he already was. Unfortunately despite the ice witch’s wish for a break, her former comrade continued his verbal assault asking basic questions that even the most ill informed person should have at least a minor understanding of.

Spiky, wildfire? On the Obsidian Island, barely anything grows there and the fire you speak of is no doubt the volcano”. Looking back to the man now regretting ever waking up a sleeping dragon as he spewed his mind warping breath through the now addled Bleuenn. Refraining from continuing her answer the ruby eyed half witch stared into the sparkling innocence of Daiko’s. The innocence matched that of a toddler asking questions yearning for an answer that would no doubt lead into an endless loop of questions until she was completely drained both in spirit and mind; it was not something that could be faked.

Grinning, Bleuenn held back the manic laughter that rumbled throughout her entire being as yet another completely ludicrous statement rippled out of Daiko’s vocal cords. Rudding her eyes now that the truth that stood so openly before her had been revealed she prepared herself to try to explain as best she was able.

Placing a pin in the insane and no doubt fatal statement for later, Bleueen cleared her throat and began to educate her empty headed friend. “The island itself is not much to look at the dead and beast populate it more than what you would understand as people. Its significance is more cultural as it is believed to be the location of where the order created its spiritual mathematics”. Lifting the not sealed cage holding the imp, “The Order of the Eternal is a belief held by many if not most of the Eldritch kind centered around balancing the Void’s… balance”. Releasing a mentally fatigued sigh, “In any case, if you do something to upset the balance you have of course return the balance. It could be monetary, material or even blood, however, no killing at least among the official branch as the more radical views are less concerned for the sanctity of life”. Peeking over to the cage she reformed the breathing holes for the imp causing tiny gasps and wheezes to echo out of the box. “However if you refuse to return the balance the order may send someone like myself to make sure you balance your scales if the act is particularly egregious. Personally, I don't care much for the order's idea of what balance is. My reasons are more practical as it’s hard to work within Eldritch lands with an unbalanced scale”.

Lowering the imp who was beginning to regain his breath as strained insults whispered out of his cage. Giving a light shake to quiet the impetus imp, Bleuenn extracted the pin from Daiko’s previous mentions. “Daiko”? Retaining the Falconer's attention the ice witch’s ruby eyes bored into his steel eyes. “I hope you were not planning to cross an ocean in a rowboat. Don’t tell me you are ignorant of the sea and the monsters with”. Irritation increased with the volume of her voice at the sheer foolishness on display. “And not only are you planning to put yourself in danger, but you have placed yourself in more perilous situations”!?

Maybe The Real Treasure Is The Friends We Made Along The Way [Emi, Bleu, Theo] Empty Re: Maybe The Real Treasure Is The Friends We Made Along The Way [Emi, Bleu, Theo]

”No no, not wildfire, wildlife- wait, there’s a volcano?” he attempted to correct her, as if his plan attained any amount of credibility with its cover front being the sheer danger and naivety protruding from the guy who suggested rowing his way to that island. However, the mentioning of a volcano intrigued him even more – then again… he no longer had Fire Magic! That must’ve meant that he also didn’t have his fire resistance anymore. One could argue that it wouldn’t matter, since magma and lava was more earth than fire, but it hurt to remember that his previous magic was no more.

… Okaaaaaaaaay. According to Miss Bosser, the island wasn’t exactly a sweet place to visit. Dead and beasts roamed the land over there, and there was also some spiritual mathematics intertwined with its location. He was a little confused about the caged imp, but Bleuenn explained that they had a sort of ‘justice system’ and that a balance had to be held concerning this Void that their system revolved around. That would make someone like Bleuenn a sort of… knight? Wait, no, more like a Rune Knight- they didn’t exist here, though. A sort of military force who worked for this Void… it all sounded so interesting that his eyes couldn’t stop sparkling.

The next exchanges of words sort of went like this, beginning from when Bleuenn asked him about his little ‘plan’:

“Daiko?”

“Mhm?”

“I hope you were not planning to cross an ocean in a rowboat. Don’t tell me you are ignorant of the sea and the monsters with.”

“Just… how huge can these monsters be? I’ve dealt with sea serpents before, so unless they’re bigger than-“

“And not only are you planning to put yourself in danger, but you have placed yourself in more perilous situations!?”

“I-I’m not exactly a helpless kid, y’know! I can handle monsters pretty w-“

And as if the world itself wanted to make an example out of him, the rowing boat that he was positioned on began… cracking under his weight. Some wooden planks had succumbed and cracked mid open, and the boat lost all trust from the toxine mage. “…” Well that was awkward – he needed a new boat.

“… S-S-S… S-So, uhm… I guess that was that journey,” he lamented his own misfortune, his entire face darkening in grief, “I really want to see that volcano, though… and what those spikes are made of… and maybe even greet some of those dead people you said were there – are they friendly or do they just want to eat other people?”
