It’s hard to pinpoint exactly who Ueredu is; one moment he could be a curious onlooker, the next a savage carnivor tearing his way through a carcass. Though one thing remains, his naive nature when coming to the concepts and constructs of society and civilization. Most of his formative years were spent in small pods and groups, living based on instinct and what he knew before enlightenment. Even to the present time, he still exhibits a more animalistic behavior, such as being skittish Around new environments or new beings (which seems odd or his physicality).

Due to nature and the ecosystem, Ueredu has come to have a bit of a fearful nature about  him. When meeting a new acquaintance for the first time, he’d automatically label them as a threat or a predator after him until proven otherwise, which is odd for his physic and physical appearance. Though once the hostility has been averted, He has a mix of reactions. Part of the time, he’ll try and learn about the person or being, perhaps even workout a way to gain their strength, or run off. It’s a real mix bag from a sentient being that had been raised in the wild and away from most of society or civilization. As well, this has resulted in an unending hunger for power and strength, to gain what is needed to no longer be so afraid of being someone's prey.







History: BOOM. Existence. Pure, unadulterated, and magical existence. Creatures known as Gaiyans were created all over Vyldermire. From the mountain peaks that reside near what is now called Deathrock Wharf, to the plains of the Common Realm, to the oceans that surround the Mirinah region. As these Gaiyans took shape, their minds were upgraded, in a sense. They were capable of deeper and more sentient thought, and the little tale of one such creature was  no different.

Out in the deep parts of the oceans that surround the Mirinah region of Vyldermire, the magics that swelled to bring forth the Gaiyan life didn’t stick to just land. A primal and fierce shark like creature was prompted into some sort of sentient evolution as well. Several others around him had received the same treatment, but this story isn’t about them. It was an odd Amphibious shark, larger than most shark-like creatures around the waters, that was also given a form more suitable to traversing the land. While it primarily stuck close to the shores, it was capable of venturing out in the bottomless depths. However, despite the creatures and newly made Gaiyan’s own predator nature, it was still largely prey to the leviathan like sea monsters lurking below.

On several occasions, Ueredu, what he would come to call himself, would be chased and hunted across the ocean; only for the sea beast to make it to the safety of the land. This would go on for years and decades, time passes without much specific marking for him. Eventually, on one such escape, the Creature of Olde came upon a settlement filled with various skin palette of people. This was his first exposure to the human race and it wasn't a good one.Despite having a more favorable form to traverse the land, he was seen more as a monster to be chased off in fear of being attacked. Though, unlike with the leviathans they lay beneath the waves, he didn't feel as much threat from them, though he would run off. The being was mostly curious as they lived differently from what he was used to. These creatures build shelters above ground, not into any mountain surface or natural cove, or anything. They took the lumber of  the land and constructed buildings and various other things.

Curiosity. Often, it kills the cat, but in this instant, the amphibious shark would find a new way of life. Throughout a year or so peaking his interest and watching how these humans went about their way of life. ONe thing did stick out, something that most life on this planet needs… food. These humans prepare their food much differently than what the Creature of Olde was used to. In the sea, they didn’t cut apart their meal or divide it into sections, just ate what they ate. No taking meat off the bone, that’d be eaten and digested as well. So in his mind, it wasn’t for survival or nourishment, the act of harvesting like this was meant as something greater… Perhaps it was a way to gain power? The settlement looked capable, they had warriors and others stand up to fight against other predators in the wilds…. They must have a secret and this was it!

For him to not be prey anymore, to gain the strength needed to not be something less food, he would need to learn this practice. To carve up the bodies of his own prey and offer them up to whatever power will listen. This is where curiosity turns to misunderstanding and begins him down a path of darkness, which leads him to sacrifice and a way out of fear.  Over the next few years, he’d secretly take lessons from the humans, watching them from afar and then begin hunting out the creatures and monsters of the land. With each take down, the Gaiyan would slive and crudely cut apart his prey in some cave just off the shore of the mainland. Inside was a very… raw and primitive altar. It was primarily made of stone, its surface just coated in blood and organs. As he took each bit out, he’d lift it up and offer it to whoever would be listening, whoever he thought the Humans were sacrificing to, before taking a bite and eating each piece of the animal, beast, or monster.

Over time, this ritual became less of a means to an end and into a way of life. His once pure giayan self slowly made its transformation into an eldritch being.






Likes: Feeding/Eating, Hunting. Sacrificing (to an extent)

Dislikes: The feeling of weakness. Being Prey.

Goal/Aspiration: To attain strength, to never be prey again.

Appearance

Height: 8’ 9” When in Humanoid form. 9’ 5” when on all fours in Aquatic form.
Body Type: Burley/Thick/Muscled
Hair: Bald
Eyes: Humanoid - Black. Aquatic - White.
Skin Tone: Mix of Stone, Aegean, and Royal Blue.

Overall Appearance: Ueredu comes in many forms! Well, really only two forms. There is his natural and default state and a more humanoid shape for when he needs to be more…. civilized. The first being an old and odd mashup of a great white shark and a frog, making him an amphibian that never quite left his aquatic stages, instead evolving and growing into what he is. When looking the Creature of Olde over, one could almost divide where the shark ends and frog begins. From the tip of the shark snoot, to the dorsal fin and meringue as his body slopes back into a flat tail. From there, you move along the bottom as the frog gut, clawed feet and finned legs take shape. The fin material/skin is colored in a muddy gold to orange gradient, which can be noted along the dorsal fin, the flat and froggish Caudal fin tail, and even the fin-like spikes along his front arms/legs. In his mouth are dozens upon dozens of teeth, taking shape in the form of many layers of teeth.

As for his more aquatic humanoid form, it’s a bit more on the nose for shark human. Ueredu is a rather thick and burley individual that towers above those around him. All the muscle and shape of the Aquatic Amphibian condensing down into a humanoid. When in such a form, he prefers a more tribal look with furs and teeth like clothing.

One moment the aquatic based demonata could be onlooking from a far, trying to sate his curiosity; the next moment? He could be tearing his way through a carcass as savagely as he possibly could. Through this though, one thing can be said for the simpleton, he doesn't get social cues or constructs of main civilization or it takes a while for him to understand. Most of his formative years were spent in pods and packs of similar species. They lived on animalistic instinct until whatever magical surge dictated that he start evolving. His intelligence isnt all that great, rather low on the scale. He can be easily tricked or manipulated, especially when something is dangled in front of him (some kind of reward).

Despite this, he hasn’t left a lot of his animal tendencies behind. He can be fearful and skittish when coming across new beings, the trauma of previously being chased across the oceans of Vyldermire. He may be prone to backing away or hiding if the slightest hint of predator can be felt in the air, which is weird given his massive physique. However, once trust is gained, he can be loyal and somewhat welcoming.  He may even get handsie in terms of picking one up, carrying someone, or even just getting real close and invading one's personal space. Or, he may even just lose interest out of nowhere.
